At AuthorPods, there’s nothing we love more than forging deeper connections between readers, authors and the works that inspire them.
That spirit of connectivity is valued more than ever this year, and UNESCO’s World Book Day reminds us that for all of the personal, private, reflective interactions that books bring, reading also can connect people to ideas and places, memories and experiences, and, perhaps most importantly, to each other.
In honor of World Book Day, Amazon is offering free eBooks, bringing readers and authors that little bit closer despite language and geographical barriers. Each of the ten titles hail from different countries and are published by Amazon Crossings, the company’s literature in translation publishing branch.
Among the offerings are: love stories from Brazil; mythology from Madagascar; memoirs from Afghanistan and the Netherlands; a poignant picture book from Argentina; and other works from China, Poland, France, Germany, and Japan. Each title touches on something different, from redemption in wartime and love after loss to brutal power struggles and surprise romance.
The books are available to all Amazon account holders regardless of Prime status, and can be read on a Kindle device or the free Kindle app for iOS or Android.
