What’s Coming Up for AuthorPods

Dear Friends,

Happy Spring from AuthorPods headquarters! Here in Vermont, spring is a little different than in other parts of the country; we have our sporadic, deceptively warm days, just enough to lull us into partial complacency and then, boom: back to winter mode.

(Sorry, daffodils.)

Sad daffodils.

Some insist spring in Vermont doesn’t exist at all, and instead choose to refer to this time of year as “Mud Season,” due to the car-swallowing abilities of our dirt roads as they thaw out after a long, frozen winter.

However, what makes the late snows and muddy roads bearable this time of year is the knowledge of what comes next: the brilliant green hues of a Vermont summer.

Currently, we at AuthorPods feel not unlike those flowers straining to push up through the snow. Having completed our initial soft launch, we’re raring to bloom and grow, but first must tend to a few site bugs and functionality tweaks. Happily, we’re making good progress and expect to announce a major update very soon.

In the meantime, we have a few exciting developments to share:

First, we are proud to announce that AuthorPods is one of eight Vermont startups selected for LaunchVT‘s 2021 Accelerator cohort. As participants in this program, we’re thrilled to be working with a dedicated coach, strategic advisors, and our fellow cohort members to refine our business model with an eye to the future.

Second, our own CEO and AuthorPods author-in-residence Elizabeth Wilcox was recently interviewed by VPR’s Mitch Wertlieb about her book, The Long Tail of Trauma. Listen here: VPR Interview

Finally, we are very pleased to welcome our first two AuthorPods interns, Ashley Post and Charlotte Peters, to our team. Ashley is a junior at Dartmouth College, majoring in macroeconomics, and is working with us on the business side of AuthorPods. Charlotte holds literature degrees from UCLA and St. Andrews, and is helping to develop editorial and social content.

As our toils continue, all of us at AuthorPods remain committed to our goal of connecting authors and readers over shared interests and great books. Sincere thanks to all of you for joining us on our journey as AuthorPods takes root.
